LIVENATION.COM DISTRIBUTES MORE THAN 428,000 FREE TICKETS OVER FOUR DAYS
When Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne and the world’s largest live music company, Live Nation, announced in February their plans to stage the 2007 OZZFEST as a free show, some industry people said it would never work.
Today OZZFEST yet again has made history, as the fans clearly have spoken.
Over the past four days, tickets for all 24 shows were distributed to a frenzy of music fans. More than 428,000 tickets in all were given away through LiveNation.com, marking the largest number of free tickets distributed in the United States in the history of the concert business. In a staged release and via various sponsor sites, including Monster Energy, Jagermeister, FYE, Pilgrim Films, Hustler Lingerie and WWE, LiveNation.com enabled fans to enter exclusive codes to obtain tickets beginning Friday, June 8. More than 228,000 tickets were distributed yesterday alone, with the last ticket given away just after midnight. The tickets were completely free without surcharges of any kind.
For this year’s historic “Freefest”--which will give fans the rock experience of their lives at a price that’s hard to beat -- headliner Ozzy Osbourne will be joined by Lamb of God, Static X, Lordi, Hatebreed, Behemoth, Mondo Generator, Nile, Ankla, Circus Diablo, The Showdown, 3 Inches of Blood, Daath, Chthonic and In This Moment.
Sharon Osbourne said, “Ozzy is the first to take an entire tour and make it free to his fans and the fans of OZZFEST. More than 428,000 tickets were distributed free to fans. How amazing is that?”

Since 1996, OZZFEST has been a virtual breeding ground for rising bands. The festival has been instrumental in igniting the careers of platinum-selling artists like System of a Down, Disturbed, Linkin Park, Incubus, Slipknot, Godsmack, Avenged Sevenfold, Mudvayne, Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage and Lacuna Coil, among others. It was cited as “one of rock’s biggest juggernauts” in the cover feature of Sunday's New York Times' “Arts and Leisure” section (6/25/06). This year marks the 12th anniversary of the hard rock spectacular.
The 24-city earth-pounding 12th annual OZZFEST will launch July 12 in Seattle, WA at the White River Amphitheatre. OZZFEST will also hit George, WA, Sacramento, CA, Mountain View, CA, Devore, CA, Phoenix, AZ, Albuquerque, NM, Denver, CO, Kansas City, MO, Dallas, TX, San Antonio, TX, St. Louis, MO, Columbus, OH, Tinley Park, IL, East Troy, WI, Indianapolis, IN, Holmdel, NJ, Hartford, CT, Boston, MA, Philadelphia, PA, Pittsburgh, PA, Detroit, MI, Charlotte, NC and West Palm Beach, FL.

I HAVE A CODE WHICH I GOT OVER ONE MONTH AGO. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET MY FREE TICKETS SINCE 7/12/07 @ 4P.M. AS INSTRUCTED. I CONTINUED EACH AND EVERY DAY, CALLING PEOPLE, E-MAILING THEM AND I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY 2 FREE TICKETS. MY CODE IS AS FOLLOWS T3DKR8LIVE. NOW WHAT MUST I DO TO GET MY TICKETS. I GO ON LINE AND I AM TOLD TO BID FOR TICKETS NOW. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DO THAT SINCE I HAVE A CODE AND STARTED USING IT ON THE VERY FIRST DAY AT 4PM AT INSTRUCTED. PLEASE HELP ME.

but I sure as hell can't wait for Ozzfest to hit Pittsburgh, got my tix on June 8th for the pre-order took a couple hours but was well worth it!

Ok> I admit. I did a lot of bitchin'. Turns out only certain stores in certain states have the tickets.. I got lucky.. called a cuz in Georgia and scored... Thnx Ozzy!! And thanx Tammy !!!!! OZZY 2007 here I come..

Oh by the way, FUCK you guys for bitchin about free tickets and putting down OZZY!!! Tries to give something back to us for a change and all I hear is crying. Yes it sucked not to get tickets for alot, but damn, they were free. You don't like it, don't go. Okay, maybe you can't.

I got my tickets to the palm beach show 120 minutes after they became available. It only took me maybe 20 minutes after a few attempts to get them. after initial log-in to site. Sucks that everyone can't go but they were free and demand would be higher for them even more so. Just don't buy tickets from anyone you don't know, xeroxed copies (bar code) are a dime a dozen. But who gets in first will be the only true winner.

I tried and tried and tried and No luck !! Never even haven been to a concert I thought was better 1st concert to go to than ozzy... No luck getting through and when I did NO MORE TICS.. talk about heartbreak!!!!

This is to Ozzy, self-proclaimed Prince Of Darkness, I agree the days of the internet, Live Nation, and ticket demands, have gone on, and Sharon tries her best. But this is Ozzfest not Cuddlefest or Holyfest
so if people get fucked and others win, we gotta love it!

Fuck you Ozzy you were good in BS you suck now somebody needs to put you back on drugs or out to pasture .Fuck you Sharon I hope you choke on your money in the name of bringing metal to the public. I'm just sorry I wasn't able to get tickets so I can see a bunch of crappy metalcore bands.

I don't really think that Live Nation should be celebrating - so many people got screwed over because of faulty issues with the live nation website.
They should've came up with a better way to distribute tickets. People are really very disappointed..
They should've had some sold online and others regularly in stores. Some people didn't have internet access or couldn't get to a computer.
And even if they could the Live Nation website did a horrible job. From timing being off, server clutter and error pages it was such bullshit.
I had to get my tickets from someone gracious enough to give me two extras.
SO please ozzfest, if you EVER do anything like this again...if ANYONE does...find a better way to distribute for ALL of the fans.

EVERYONE - I got screwed on the tickets just like the rest of you but here's how you get tickets --- Go find a 4-pack of MonsterEnergy drinks with the Ozzfest logo on it and then redeem the code inside at MonsterEnergy.com. They still have free tickets for many shows. I had to go to a few stores to find them, but there were a bunch more at the store. I found mine at Publix for like $6.
Got my tickets for WPB! I can hardly believe it after this huge livenation clusterfuk!

The only history Sharon and Ozzy are making is dissapointing the fuck out of me. The fans deserve better than to beg friends to use computers, mob librarys, and make up all kinds of exuses only to have to jump through a million internet hoops that result in a huge waste of time and a complete dissapointment. FUCK THIS

Hey *jkronik* dude. All tickets say "not for resale", not just the free tickets. I have tickets for another concert from livenation that I paid for, and they also say "not for resale".

I'm so upset!!!!! No computer I used would allow me to actually obtain the tickets. All I got was a pass code. And now all the tickets are gone? What the hell? I've been going to Ozzfest for years, PAYING, and this is like a slap in the face. It's not fair. I'm sure there will be a lot of people there, but now I won't be one of them. May not matter to you but it should. THE FANS COUNT. Especially ones that DON'T have access to computers outside of a library, like me, which wouldn't let me get the ticket. Thanks for nothing. You've totally dissapointed me and really made my year negative. I always looked foward to Ozzfest. This sucks.
