Job For  A Cowboy first album was good but their newest one is so horrible i don't even know where to start. I can think of much better bands like Pig Destoryer who could've got that slot. I doubt there's as many posers who like Beneath The Massacre and Gojira but seeing as who they are touring with I can see a lot more posers coming out of it. I couldn't believe how many little pseudo-metal scene kids were around when I saw Cattle Decapitation with despised icon and suicide silence.

Behemoth takes the cake for the most poser fans picked up in one year.

That band has been around how long and people are just barely listening to them who claim they have been into metal since diapers.

So having been into lighter bands before discovering metal, but still dressing and acting like you did before getting into metal, even if you're really into metal still makes you a poser and destroys the reputation of the band. Wow I think that you are gonna have to kill off about 99.999999999999999999999999999% of everyone who listens to metal.::surprise

You be one those little p.c. faggots I am talking about who are all like "But look at our influences! D.R.I. and stuff! We're legit! Promise!".

Dude, you don't even fucking know me. And you know what I haven't been into metal my entire life, but than again i don't know very many kids under the age of 10 who could even name off any metal bands. Seeing as I'm 17 and I started liking metal bands at the age of 8 I've liked metal for over half of my lifetime, if this makes me a poser faggot than I think that easily classifies most people that listen to metal as poser faggots. And by implying that you can't like metal if you like other types of music is one of the most ignorant things I've ever heard. That's like saying you can't like Italian and Chinese food, you have to choose one or the other.

I never said no one couldn't like metal for if they are into other types of music, that's fucking retarded and never claimed that. I am not talking about you, so why are you assuming I am? You constantly think I am talking to or assuming i am disagreeing with you then are too quick to reply without realizing like when call me wrong on genres when I was pretty much (in a very simplistic rounded out way) saying the say exact thing as you were trying to breakdown on something I already know, which led to my very confused non-sensical reply..

Back to the original issue.I am implying bandwagon metal fans who get into the scene and think they know everything about it when they know nothing of the sort. You and I have been listening to metal for a long time, have seen many sub-genres, many bands, and many different types of fans come out of the woodwork during that time. Now you can agree with me on this that it is highly annoying when some one who just get's into metal and then two days later is trying to claim they are so underground, so obscure, and ect ect.. you know the song i am singing.  JFAC is one of those bands who bring those type of fans, behemoth has a good following i was just making fun of some one else with that comment. Quit putting words in my mouth or I'll put my dick in yours.

Excuse the misunderstanding, I assumed that you were being like so many of the other so-called "hardcore metal heads" that assume that since a band is getting a wider following that they are no-longer good and are no-longer metal. I will agree that the stupid kids who are just getting metal and as such think they are badasses and what not seriously piss me off sometimes, but rather than bash on them I tend to educate them, in the ways of metal music and a particular favorite lesson of mine is the ways of the mosh::stare::finger::stare

I once pissed off all of the people in Barrens chat, if you don't know they love Chuck Norris and Chuck Norris jokes, by saying that I made Chuck Norris cry by beating him up and stealing his Mountain Dew, lame commercial reference but it was funny at the time.

Mjolnir said: dammit, I hate it when this happens, I've been a huge fan of Amon Amarth since "The Crusher" album, very rare was it to find anyone that knew who they were until a couple months ago.

it seems like it really destroys alot of bands when this type of thing happens and to find someone that likes them is a dime-a-dozen, like slipknot and lamb of god, Lamb Of God is incredible, slipknot questionable, but they're so popular now people might hear the radio single at that particular time and say "oh slipknot they did duality I fucking love slipknot" then they hear the rest of their music and are like WTF I didn't know they were a metal band" or some shit like that

EVERYONE knows who they are now and they'll just become another mallcore band

I hope they go back to Sweden and don't come back for several years to lose all these gay poser fans that know them simply because they know them from SOTU

Dude seriously, anyone who dislikes the fact that a band gets more fans or decides that being a little more mainstream isn't necessarily a bad thing is showing a massive amount of ignorance. You call them a sellout and get this idea that now they are going to suck, which will most likely become a self-fulfilling prophecy for you, but really all you are doing is becoming a sellout yourself for disliking the fact that there happens to be other people in the world that like the band. Rather than dislike the fact that there are new fans, you should embrace the camaraderie that surrounds the world of metal, we're the biggest underground tribe in the world, do you think fans in the 80's started disliking metal because it became the most popular genre of music in the world. Hell no!They went on stronger and louder then ever and the true fans refused to let their music die out. All of the craze fans will find a new band to cling too in a few years and the true fans will stick with their band, that is the cycle all music must suffer through.

8  Forum / Versus / Family guy vs. South Park on: October 17, 2007, 02:09:44 pm
Tough choice, I can't pick one they are both too good.

I do have to say though, that being from Colorado it is really annoying having people ask about South Park, Colorado. The show isn't based off of South Park, Colorado, the real South Park sucks, I know, I've been there. The show's writers are from the Denver Metro Area ok!
9  Forum / Versus / Lamb of God Vs Rammstein on: October 17, 2007, 02:05:13 pm
Rammstein, I like LoG but it's tiresome to listen to after a while.

Besides, very few US bands could ever get away with using the subject matter or inuendos that they do.

moosejuice said: are u fucking stupid or something there are also a few hundred other bands that did not do the freefest either
yes thats true, but im talking about corey taylor and his two very greedy bands,
not 100's of bands who couldnt afford to go on tour at free fest this year.

slipknot easly had enough money to pull that off,
but did they want to?
no they chose not to.
there for there greedy asswholes,
there for you dont have a real reason to question me on this subject.

Dude the problem with you logic is A) any festival is typically an invite only thing, especially Ozzfest and Freefest
and B) the bands still got paid, every free ticket was free for the fans only because they got sponsers to sponser the show, without the sponsers paying for the costs of the show we would have had to pay for tickets.
The only shows that bands don't usually make any money off of are charity shows, and not many bands of any genre put on a lot of those, and they still cost fans the price of tickets, but the band agrees to donate part or all of the proceeds to whichever charity the show is for.

Also this bashing of a band is getting old, slipknot has been a gateway for many new generation metal heads to find metal, who gives a shit if you don't like them, most metal heads can't even agree on which metal bands are truthfully metal. It's a really pointless thing to argue about, you have your musical tastes and everyone else has theirs, leave it at that.
11  Forum / General Discussions / satanists on: October 17, 2007, 12:28:15 pm
The problem with the term "satanist" is it is used by people in the Christian and Judaic worlds to refer to anyone who practices any of a number of "pagan" religions. The only people who really call themselves "Satanic" are hypocrites, because they either do not believe in the Christian/Judaic God but do believe in the power of "Satan" or the devil, or they do not believe in any God or higher power at all, but a system of moral codes in which ones power should determine their position in society.
12  Forum / General Discussions / "Clothes make the band" on: October 17, 2007, 12:17:31 pm
As long as it's ok to good death metal no one should give a shit what the band members look like. And don't dis on the white guy fro, mines not blonde, but I have one too.
13  Forum / The Cage / Anybody want to debate evolution? on: October 08, 2007, 02:43:45 pm
Yeah and my friend sixstringsam, you didn't notice what I said did you? I said it was a moot argument, and then gave the reasons why. You retorted back with the skewed statistics that I knew you would use in an argument against evolutionism, you also mixed up evolutionism with the Theory of Evolution and the Big Bang Theory, although both are things used in the theories behind evolutionism, neither are solely evolutionist nor products of evolutionism. In fact Einstein's E=mc^2, the basis behind Big Bang, was developed by Einstein in an effort to help him prove the existence of God, and many of the original theorists behind Big Bang later went on to join the theory of Intelligent Design, which, if you didn't know, is a cross behind the creationist belief that God created everything, and the evolutionist beliefs essentially saying that there is a higher power that has guided the various happenings in the universe, i.e. Big Bang and evolution, to make the universe as we see it today. In fact the Theory of Evolution is only still refered to as a "theory" out of habit, it has been shown that given the correct external stimuli an organism will change over the generations to better it's chances of survival, that is why we now have drug resistant tuberculosis and viruses that can't be wiped out using normal methods because of their adaptive RNA structures, such as HIV/AIDS and the common cold. Also as a first year chemical engineering major I can tell you that we have already shown the basis behind the Big Bang Theory and various forms of radiochemical dating aside from radiocarbon dating that show that the basis of the evolutionist and Intelligent Design theories are more plausible than the theories of the creationists. Also radiocarbon dating is calculable with a fair amount of accuracy out to almost 500,000 years, not only 10,000 years, seeing as Carbon-14 has a half-life of 5370 years it would be a fairly simple mathematical calculation to use it to calculate out to 500,000 plus years. I no longer wish to debate this with you as you believe what you believe, I believe what I believe, and people who know anything about the subject believe what they believe, and it is highly unlikely that this argument will ever end, much less change the minds of those people ingrained in what they believe.
