Take away Ozzy and you might as well take away the OZZ from Ozzfest.

Although, simply "Fest" is a pretty catchy name for a metal festival.

SOAD have had their moment. Even though they were one of the first bands I listened to, I hope they do not reform.

Main Stage
Slayer
Marilyn Manson
Killswitch Engage
Bullet For My Valentine

Jagermeister Stage
Trivium
All That Remains
God Forbid
Suicide Silence

Hot Topic Stage
Cannibal Corpse
Behemoth
Job For A Cowboy
The Black Dahlia Murder
Whitechapel

Wait, there the hell did Suicide Silence come from? Everywhere I've checked, they're not on this tour.
6  Forum / General Discussions / Drone on: January 28, 2009, 08:46:46 pm
The only drone I really listen to is ambient drone like Stars of the Lid but I like Sunn O))) as well, I just don't have any of their stuff.
7  Forum / General Discussions / Ozzfest 2009 on: January 28, 2009, 06:14:25 pm
I would bet money on Metallica, Mastodon, and Meshuggah being on the bill.
8  Forum / General Discussions / Killswitch Engage added to Mayhem Fest on: January 28, 2009, 01:24:01 am
Hmmm... Oh well... Slayer and Behemoth are still there so I'm still pleased.

nirvdefozz said: I never said I don't conform to trends just NOT this shitty metalcore trend and the trend going around where everyone only likes these bands in the so-called "underground" to make themselves look like metal elitists. If I had a dime for everytime I see some FUCK like yourselves talk about how shitty my musical taste is, I'd be a rich man right now...the funny thing is....these are the bands that actually SELL albums. WHy? Because they actually matter and they don't play some crappy brand of unlistenable metal music that makes zero sense. BUT I'm intelligent enough to know that a lineup of the caliber I stated above wouldn't sell as well because the crowd of that music is ten to fifteen years older (if not more) and most don't go to such shows anymore because it was just that...a trend. I just found it a very good one and the current one fuckin' blows! The little pubescent teens of today that have mommy and daddy buy their tickets want what's popular and Sharon and Ozzy have people that are 'in the know". They know what will sell and they know that a lot of people my age (26) who loved all those nu metal bands and grunge and what not have turned their backs on the genre(s) for this metalcore trend and they act like they never heard a Limp Bizkit or Staind or Godsmack song in their life because they're just too good for that "generic" music. Well, you know what, FUCK THAT! I grew up on that music and it rocks just as hard today as it did back then...unlike these shitty bands like Mastodon and the like.  ::finger
Selling alot of albums isnt a smart argument you short brained faggot. It doesnt show how talented or good at making original good songs the band is. It just shows that a big mayority like generic music and focus only on the *catchiness of the song. They like music they can easily get into and are brainwashed by MTV so fuck you. I guess you consider the Backstreet Boys good music.....If you were inteligent you wouldnt be listening to mindless crap AKA Limp Bizkit. Yeah metalcore is also shitty.
So you grew up with that music? Big fucking deal, alot of people outgrow that shit cuz they start to discover better music and grow the fuck uop. Have fun being 26 and listening to repetetive teen angst music.::looking

I'm sorry master for not taking this metal shit as seriously as you...please don't condemn me to hell!!!..Excuse the fuck out of me for actually liking songs that are uh......catchy! and maybe not so uh.......uh........non-catchy....heaven forbid one of these bands that you probably like write a song that makes any fuckin' sense! Sorry I don't dig Dungeons and Dragons or Devil 66666 with cookie monster on vocals! I'm really not that angry unlike what I can say for probably your music (see repetitive teen angst music reference above). My music sometimes brings a message of hope within the angst....can yours say that?  Backstreet Boys are talented for what they do! Not my cup of tea but hey, don't knock talent! It's more than I can say for all that metalcore death metal shit. As far as intelligence goes, I'm not sure musical taste is what you should go by but I will agree that I keep my music simple just like my life. There's no need to dramatize and make difficult what short time we have on this earth.....just a thought. Lynyrd Skynyrd said it best: Baby be a simple kind of man be something you love and understand...There's nothing advancing or "better" about your music...it's dull...get over it!::finger::smile

Music is subjective. You are both wrong. Different people look for different things in music, some look for a catchy rhythm, some look for something more complex or simply different. Some people are also looking to simply hop on a trend for outside social reasons. Doesn't mean there is anything wrong with that, music is a socially binding tool after all. I say stop bickering like 12-year-olds and just learn to respect each others taste in music. Of course, that's probably not going to happen and you are both going to ignore my response and just keep arguing.
