TRIPLEXSTAR said: From my Facebook: Basically I heard a rumor a few months back that AiC may play Ozzfest. I also had another source tell me that Down and Devildriver were going to play a festival tour that was not Mayhem. Didn't confirm it was Ozzfest though...
This week Ozzy announced that Ozzfest will return in July as a touring festival. The Ozzfest facebook admin replied to a post stating that the info will be released in late Feb/early March. I did a good job of predicting which bands would be on Mayhem Fest, let me give Ozzfest a try. Here we go:
It's obvious that the bands on Mayhem Fest and the rescheduled American Carnage tour will not be on Ozzfest as the touring dates will conflict. It's also a safe to bet to say that bands touring the Euro festival circuit this summer during the mid July through Aug months won't be on the fest either. Those bands include Iron Maiden, Heaven & Hell, Arch Enemy, Children of Bodom, Gwar, Behemoth, Fear Factory, Gojira, Cannibal Corpse, Slayer, Voivod, Motley Crue... thus far. Checkout Blabbermouth.net and search for Wacken Festival or Bloodstock Festival and it will give you a list of bands confirmed so far.
Of course Ozzy will headline and show off his new guitarist Gus G. This guy is awesome and will shock fans at how good he is.
These bands either have released new albums recently or are working on new albums to be released sometime this year and are all possibilites to tour on Ozzfest this summer:
Metallica (Hey they played in 08 and with Ozzy at the RnR HOF)
Judas Priest
Godsmack
Disturbed
Alice in Chains
One of the bands listed above will likely be a coheadliner playing in the slot before Ozzy. So far I have heard a rumor that AiC may be playing- no idea how legit this rumor is as it doesn't come from a good source.
Roadrunner Records and Century Media records always have 1 or 2 bands on Ozzfest. I think these bands have a good chance of playing:
RRR:
Killswitch Engage
Stone Sour
Devildriver
Trivium
Cradle of Filth
CM:
Lacuna Coil
Other bands who could play the main stage or be a 2nd stage coheadliner:
Anthrax (All of the big 4 hype could get this band on the tour)
Mastodon
Down
As I Lay Dying
HellYeah (Probably not if Down plays and vice-versa, plus Mudvayne is not touring for their last album)
Firewind (Gus G's band)
Black Label Society (Ozzy and Zakk still are friends so why not?)
Dethklok (Not sure how it would work cause they would be playing during the daylight)
Dimmu Borgir
All That Remains
2nd Stage Rotating Bands:
The Agonist
Skeletonwitch
The Empire Shall Fall
Airbourne
The Sword
I HOPE THIS IS TRUE!!!!!!!!!
