i liked it so much I bought it twice - first before last year's fest for the presale code in the cardboard packaging and again when it came out in a proper jewel box with lyrics and everything. the main production difference I notice btw older albums and newer ones, in general, is the absence of the 'wall of sound' you used to hear on albums. nowadays, with everything digital, you don't get that empty studio tone behind the performance. trivia; Ozzy's Under Cover album was the first ever to be entirely recorded digitally.

sounds kinda lame next to all the new metal responses but we saw UFO with The Boyzz at House of Blues - Chicago April 19. we took our 21 y.o. nephew and he had a blast. he plays guitar & keys and we got right up front so he had a perfect view. classic metal!!!

30,000 tix? even if we could afford to take the time off of work and all the other expenses that go along with it, show's gonna be jam packed as it is. they couldn't find any other venue with more capacity? ozzy deserves time off, but jeez . . it'll be interesting to see how much the scalpers get the tix price up to.

wake up! civics 101 class in session. POLITICIANS WORK FOR US!!! if you do not like what they are doing TELL THEM! find them on the internet and send them a message if you have an extreme opinion of how they are doing their jobs. do not bitch at each other about how they are running the country. do not get caught up in who supports them and what they think. none of these clowns are committing to how they are going to take care 'o business if they get in. even both parties are holding back on supporting their candidates. the republicans weren't too happy that McCain got as far as he did and the democrats can't figure out which one of their's sucks less than the other. rush limbaugh is even campaigning for hillary because he knows that McCain will have a hard time beating obama. and that's the main reason I will vote for obama if he makes the nomination - just to vote against far right wingers like limbaugh. except McCain has stated in the past that he supports legalization. so now I'm still confused.

I laugh so hard at the people who really get over dressed for the fest. are those stovepipe pants with all the damn zippers and metal rings and crap all over them still in style? I was behind a chick in pants like that waiting for her to try and get through a damn METAL DETECTOR at jury duty recently. and the pale makeup thing, watching them sweat all that off all day long boggles my mind. the show is on the stage, not in your mirror.
Essentials; a) comfortable shoes b) a hat with a brim c) light jacket d) pants with pockets

okay, 1985, Kalamazoo Michigan Timber Ridge Ski Resort. Can't remeber the name of the festival but we left Chicago at 3am and got there about 8am. Show went on at 9am with Accept (Balls to the Wall!) followed by Night Ranger, Motley Crue, Ozzy - Bark at the Moon tour (with Bob Daisley, Jake E Lee, Tommy Aldridge and Don Airey), and Triumph. Ted Nugent was supposed to be there but cancelled (supposedly) because of Ozzy. We were right up front the whole damn time, got horrible sunburns, climbed the hill during Triumph and passed out. To this day Triumph gets me sleepy.

all I need now is a graphic of a kid, covered in chocolate ice cream, kicking the back of the driver's seat.

Alpine Valley?!?!?! hell yah! it's a Live Nation venue so start there. they haven't announced any shows for this season yet (since I checked last week). We've been rockin' there since 1979. I love that place so much I want my ashes scattered there. Even better, a funeral pyre in the parking lot! See you in the Valley View Lounge?::laugh

ministry a bit far fetched? they were supposed to headline 2nd stage (1999) and cancelled because they refused to go on that early. joe kelly snuck up behind us on the lawn and screamed "that should be us up there!"::finger maybe they're over it by now . . .
more local bands on second stage! remember the days when promoters would sneak one of the better local bands in a city on first slot to fill time and draw their fans in?
and ain't it about time Manson got his own travelling circus?::c_stare
