Im not really disapointed with the line up. I only wish they would have told us it was going to be a small line up this year. They claim its because they are upping the production but I don't think that's the case..I think it's because Mayhem is realizing how expensive it is to pay all these bands.

Well I can tell you this...When the re release of Blizzard Of Oz was coming out. The OZZFEST facebook page was making all these messages telling people it's coming out. And every time they made a post I always made this reply "I Am NOT Buying A Single OZZY OSBOURNE Thing Until I Gte My OZZFEST Back". And by the 5th time I did this I get a reply FROM THE OZZFEST FACEBOOK PAGE saying "Justin OZZFEST Will Be Back In 2012". And I still haven't (And Still Wont) purchesed a single Ozzy item until I get my OZZFEST back and they lower the price of those damn VIP Packages. Last year I FINALLY had the $1,000 fucking buxx for it...And they cancelled it on me. Now I don't have it due to medical emergancies. This has been the 5th year in the row I got screwed out of the damn thing. And I want the OZZFEST VIP not OZZY. Nothing against OZZY but I grew up on OZZFES and I want to meet OZZY and the 1 festival where my life finally started back in 2000.

Wicked Wisdom? She got booed off the stage.
Yeah back then. But after seeing an article on Blabbermouth on how her and her daughter like Lamb Of God. People were giving her respect in their comments. Wicked Wisdom is a great band and I think now people are starting to accept them. So lets give them another shot.

Come up with 3 different lists. Each must contain only 5 bands And the subject of these lists are. 1. Bands that have never played OZZFEST but should have a long time ago. 2. Bands that have only done OZZFEST once or twice that should do it 1 more time. 3. Bands that are not quite metal but you wouldn't mind them playing on OZZFEST. And if they did OZZFEST over seas then that counts as taking part of the show. Use the history page as a referance.
Ready? Go!
Bands that Should have Done it. 1. Rammstein 2. Atheist 3. Dethklok 4. Dream Theater 5. RUSH
Bands should do it 1 more time. 1. Godsmack 2. Primus 3. Powerman 5000 4. Wicked Wisdom 5. MushroomHead
Not Quite Metal but would like to see them 1. James Durbin 2. TRUSTcompany 3. Breaking Benjamin 4. Tenacious D 5. COLD
How about the rest of you?

Slayeraddict, Dickensen was the first and ONLY person to bitch about Ozzfest since it began. You aren't going to win this arguement so you might as well give-up. He chose to go on Ozzfest and chose to bitch about it and got his ass handed to him because of it. Sure, Sharon probably should've confronted him about it before that, but he had NO right to do that shit.
Exactly. And like I said before I was thrilled I got to see Iron Maiden. Not a lot of people from my generation can say that (I'm 26 and I grew up in the 90s). But what he did wasn't right. This isn't a battle of Sharon vs Bruce. Its a Battle of whats right and whats wrong. That's it.

They're Iron fucking Maiden, they deserve a longer set than 55 minutes. Without Iron Maiden on the bill, I guarantee that Ozzfest would have sold a lot less tickets. When he gets that little time and get treated like shit by people associated with the festival (based on what Bruce has said about the incident), he has a right to be angry. Sharon on the other hand does not have the right to cut them off and have eggs thrown at them. That's just immature and childish. If she's got a problem with Bruce, take it up professionally, don't throw a little temper tantrum and have thrown eggs thrown at him. That just makes her look like an arrogant little bitch.
RIGHT THERE MAN! When you say "Its Iron FUCKING Maiden". That shows you don't care about whats right or wrong. All you care about is the name. They didn't have to do OZZFEST no one forced them to. They chose to do it on their own free will. If they were given a 55 minute set and they didn't like then they didn't have to do the tour. Giving them a 55 minute set isn't disrespectful. Its what they could let them do in the 14 hours (Or so) that festival was there for the day. Every band has a right to play their set and they weren't going to cut every band's set time just so that this guy will feel better about himself. And you still haven't told me how the tour was disrespectful to him. Maybe if they wanted to do more songs they could have done what I call a slash. Like do Half of The Trooper then cut into Run To The Hills. Bands to that all the time. People admire this guy as if he's some hero. If he was the one who had the problem with the tour in the first place he should have said something to Sharon. He should have said "Hey Sharon I have been meaning to talk to you about something" instead he went out on stage and said fuck these bands, fuck the Osbournes, fuck these sponsors (And yet he took the sponsors money any way). Face it, it was a Dick move on his part.

How was the tour disrespecting him? Did he want more money? I know he was upset about the seating arrangements in the venue....What do you want Sharon to do about that? You really expect her to ask the venue. Hey can you remove 10 rows of seats so that Bruce's ego is satisfied? She let anybody who was wearing an Iron Maiden t-shirt down in front. Nobody was spitting on Iron Maiden. Nobody was saying hey Bruce fuck you and your band. Everybody was excited to see them. Including me. He was complaining for not getting his way. And a 55 minute set sounds good to me. Bands on the second stage only got like what 20 minutes? Plus you gotta give the roadies time to take all that shit down and put up the next band's equipment. I hope 1 day we will see them on OZZFEST again but Bruce owes Sharon an apology.
And for the record. Lets say if OZZY were to do the same to them on their tour...I would be bitching at OZZY. This isn't some huge Sharon Osbourne vs Bruce Dickenson battle. This is about what's right and wrong. What he did was just wrong. Im a bigger Godsmack fan then a Motly Crue fan but I was disappointed what Sully did on Motly Crue's own festival tour.

YES AND HERE WE ARE 7 OR 8 YEARS LATER, STILL BITCHING ABOUT THE DEFINING MOMENT OF OZZFEST: WHEN SHARON CUT THE POWER ON IRON MAIDEN.
GROW UP IS RIGHT. GET OVER IT. [/quote]
Hey as long as people still bitch about. I will still be here defending what I believe. And what is right and wrong.

Oh give me a fucking break. Iron Maiden went like 5 minutes later than what they were supposed to, I'm sure they weren't making Sharon go broke. You wanna talk about disrespectful, how about giving a legendary band like Iron Maiden barely an hour to play? Seriously having eggs thrown at him and calling him a prick on stage? Grow the fuck up.
Again every extra minute your on stage takes away from another band. And that was SABBATH's set time. A band WAY bigger then Maiden. Hell they started metal in the first place. I call that disrespectful. Plus they were given a 55 minute set time. That's just under an hour. If a shows stays longer then schedualed then venue can get pissed off with you and she has to deal with all the BS. Which means it can lead to them being banned from that venue. And frankly, HE IS A PRICK! Bashing her husband, her family, her tour. And despite what you may think. She is a wife and mother first and a manager second. My Mom would have done the same thing. Your telling me to grow up? I think you need to realize whats right and wrong. What Bruce did was wrong. If he wanted a longer set time. He should have talked to her instead of doing what he did. Again if they want to do that on their own tour and live with the consequences that's. But this wasn't their tour.

I'll never forgive Sharon for what she did to Bruce Dickinson in 2005. What a bitch.
What about what Bruce did to her? He was bashing her family, her tour, and that's ok to you? Despite what you may believe Sharon is a wife and a mother first and a business woman second. She loves her family. When her children were born they took them on the road with them because she wanted to raise them. She has stated publicly that she runs OZZFEST very strict. So that your on stage a certain time and your off stage at a certain time. Every extra minute your on stage that takes time away from another band. And as much as the venue wants you there to bring in money. They want you to get the fuck out. Because they got to clean this whole place for the next load of drunken fans to come in. And when Bruce decided to cut into Black Sabbath's set time. She had every right to cut the power to their set. Hell even Bruce's band mates apologized for his actions. I even talked to some bands who have toured OZZFEST and are Iron Maiden and asked them what they thought of what Bruce did. Like I spoke with Mike from Drowning Pool. And he is a huge Maiden fan but he told me how disapointed he was with him. He said he talking trash to the people who have given us work. Who helped get us noticed. Bashing my country etc. If Bruce wants to do this on his own tour and live with the consequences thats fine...BUT THIS WASN'T HIS TOUR. This is Sharon's. Its her money, her tour, her rules. End Of Story.

Thank You AlpineVallyGirl and MattSabbath13. As much as music is indeed an art. People do forget that its still a business. We don't live in that time where you can go on stage whenever you want. You got to be on stage at a certain time and off stage at a certain time. If you bash the person paying you. There will be consequences. And all bands have to pay their dues. Both literally and figuratively. And I wont be a bit surprised if Mayhem has to start charging their second stage bands. Did you noticed how small the line up is? They claim they are upping the value on the production but I doubt that. I think they are realizing how expensive it is to pay all these bands.

Okay first off, leave Sharon alone. Stop blaming everything on her. Second, When a band like Iron Maiden wants $183,000 a night to play. I'm sure what the second stage bands pay goes towards that. And yes bands did have to pay $75,000 to part take in the tour. HOWEVER!!! According to 1 of NILE's guitar techs he said its cheaper to tour OZZFEST then to get an ad in Rolling Stone. Then came System of a Down who indeed wanted $350,000. And again i'm sure some of what the Second Stage bands paid went towards paying them. Then when 2007 came along Sharon was so fucking fed up with all these bands demanding so much money. She said you know what...FUCK YOU! I'm giving you a stage to play and tour that (At the time) was the highest selling tour in America. You should be fucking thankful. That's when she decided to make 2007 for free.
She said she was tired of the Bullshit and politics and wanted band's to step up and say who has the guts to go for free. And weather you liked or disliked the bands that were on that tour for that year...You got to give them props. I talked to In This Moment and they said yeah the only money we made was through sponcers and merchandising...And they loved it. The politics were GONE. Now as for why there were so little bands on 2010... According to a contact at live nation (Who owns the promotional rights to OZZFEST). They wanted to rebuild the franchise again. So start small and gradually work their way back up. Sounds like a good plan to me. But them cancelling in 2011 wasnt a good idea if they are trying to rebuild it. But I hope they come back and I hope it will be fun again (Don't get me wrong I had a BLAST at 2010 ;-)
