Crazy_eyes said: It was mentioned now that Ozzfest has competition.  Not exactly that good of competition, but it still counts.  I am not at all blaming Wiz for this because Sharon is technically his boss (I think) when it comes to this site.  But it is VERY stupid of her to not at least release what cities it will be in.  Like what was said earlier, if the bands and all that aren't released by 4/15 then people are gonna blow thier $ on Mayhem instead of Ozzfest.  Then they'll start crying when the line-up gets released.
Hi Crazy Eyes. Itd be good to know who, what, where and when wouldn't it. Maybe their hoping to sell more tickets from it but that to any intelligent person is counterproductive.

Bit off topic here.
One thing that freaks me out about metal bands when that want to appear really heavy the less legible their name is.
I'm almost assuming because I can't read 4 of the bands on the poster you got up there they must be the heaviest. LOL
If we can read it easy they can't be too heavy but if you can't read em at all they must be heavy as f**k.
Not good fom a marketing perspective I imagine. Not being able to read a name (like me right now) means I can't go check em out on youtube and see if I like em.::confused
4  Forum / Ozzy / Is Gus G going to cut the grade? on: January 26, 2010, 10:19:58 pm
Having only seen Gus palying on youtube with Oz (and he seems quite capable) I couldn't help but wondering if he is going to write the riffs and co write songs with Ozzy as Zakk did at times when the machine was working well.
If he is will he cut the grade in the studio?

Also for those who've seen Gus whats the vibe like with him onstage? Is it good or a bit of a downer?

I hope Ozzy does this and not let a whole mob of money hungry songwriters submit material like on Down To Earth.

Strat said: yea... Lande is an amazing singer.

But i dont like his band...... the Jorn/Allen cd he did with Rusell Allen(Symphony X) though is the shit.

I can't believe how many bands and projects he's worked on.
There seems to be a whole bunch of great musicians in Europe who all work on eachothers projects, a cliche I guess of mates who just do shit together..

AlpineValleyGirl said: the number of times we've stood in line to meet Ozzy / Black Sabbath it usually went like this;

pull up to the store in the parking lot to see hundreds of fans who got there before you did
park about a half mile away and find the end of the line.  wait.  sometimes hours.  and hours.
we waited over 5 hours to meet Sabbath for the release of the Reunion album.  but well worth it.
you go over &  over in your head what you want to say to him when you finally get to the front of the line.
you finally get to the front door of the store.  stop and wait for the person in front of you in line to go in.
(side note;  you either had a totally intriguing discussion with this person or totally ignored them)
OH BOY!!! YOU'RE NEXT!!!!!  BUT NOT YET!!!
enter the store.  buy the new book / album.  get back in line, but now inside the store.
find a good place for an autograph inside the book.  get totally nervous watching the person ahead of you talk to Ozzy.  listen to your blood pressure spike inside your head.  okay, seriously, now you're next.

you catch eye contact with the man himself and your tongue falls out.  your legs forget how to propel you forward.  someone from behind you pushes you towards the table.  Ozzy says something but you can't hear him because all you can hear is the blood rushing through your head.  you sputter something but Ozzy can't understand you because his hearing is shot and your tongue doesn't work anyways.

you forget which page you want him to sign and he opens up the front cover and scribbles his signature on one of the first few pages.  just as your nerves start to relax, someone from the store leads you off in that direction towards the exit.

and I can't wait to do it all over again at the end of the month

Thats exactly what I was like meeting Zakk - exactly! lmfao!
Very good description 10/10::sinister

This maybe old news to many of you but new for some.
A singer called Jorn Lande is starting to be recognised as one of the best singers in the world in rock/metal.
Of course this is subjective but if this guy can sing,

Dio awesomely

Coverdale perfectly (pretty much)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TDEMNYLbl0&feature=related

And Ian Gillian
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBmE3Qr-1D4

you can't deny this guys got some talent.
His original works are exceptionally good too check out the album The Duke and a song named Blacksong or a few others on the album.

He did a tour in your lovely country 2008 and I'm wondering (hoping) that maybe someone here caught it live and could share the experience.

Does anyone else here like him and know of him.

Cheers Ping.::sinister

I don't have kids but you can be sure when I do they won't have a choice but to listen to whatever I'm listenening to. So that means a fair bit of hard rock/metal. Of course the content of the songs would not have swearing. ::looking
