I do/did dog rescue, and never even saw the movie all the way until after I got it done. In rescue and fostering, you see a lot of hard things, and I just remember turning to someone one day (we had gotten a dog that had been beaten within an inch of his life, and fought) and saying that if people that do things like that to animals can go to heaven, then I have no doubt that animals get a free ride to heaven.
