totally BEHEMOTH!!!  but DAATH is really good also.

First Demigod.  It's is a great album and just shows u pure Behemoth all the way.  It's a perfect example of a mix of all their influences.  Then check out Thelema.6, another one of their Death Metal albums.  Then check out The Apostasy...in that order.  then you can check out any other album before that such as Satanica, ...And the Forests Dream Eternally(Black Metal), Grom, Pandemonic Incantations, Demonica, Sventevith, Tyrants From The Abyss, and another personal favorite, Zos Kia Cultus...very good.  Im glad there is another follower amongst the army, have fun.

i still like slipknot, and ur right about them being a gateway to heavier bands for younger kids.  BUT, dont rely on them forever...i remember when i was young and stupid and thought Slipknot was too "goth" for me, those were my punk days...then, before i even heard a whole slipknot album, i saw the Conquer All video by Behemoth and immediately went to every dark and blood soaked corner of the metal realm.  Slipknot is pretty good in my taste, but after awhile they get old, and you gotta move on.

Uh......yeah...right.  You do realise that dave mustaine was in metallica, and co-wrote most of the songs on their first album and that Kerry King was in Megadeth for a short time before going back to record with slayer.  The question is not who is the better band, but who strarted thrash.  I am not saying Mustaine started thrash, but he was HIGHLY influencial in developing thrash.  And Metallica copied Motorhead? I dont think so, ever hear of Diamondhead or mabye Blitzkrieg?

yes, i know of Dave's involvement in early Metallica, and Kerry King's in Megadeth, but that has nothing to do with it.  I said that Metallica had a larger influence.  also, yes, Metallica did copy Motorhead to a certain extent, the resemblence in their music is unmistakable
