I didn't say anything about thrash. Give me Kreator any day. Guess that's just me being picky though Kreator is my favorite thrash band, but the main ones are all from America: Slayer, Testament, Exodus, Anthrax, (old) Metallica, Sodom. I was agreeing to your statement about certain genres I know you're not referring to the Sodom that wrote Agent Orange and M-16 right? Pretty sure they're from Germany... Kreator, Sodom, Destruction > Slayer, Exodus, and Metallica I'm probably alone in this opinion. Foreign thrash also includes Tankard, Sepultura (old at least), Holy Moses, and Coroner. I guess it comes down to which style of thrash you prefer. America's has more prog and hardcore punk influences (see Megadeth for progish elements and Slayer/Anthrax for more punkish), while the German scene lacked these influences for the most part and imo tended to be way more aggressive

Ugh. First heard of them when they were announced for ProgPower last year. Couldn't stand that band then, still can't now.
If you did like them though, check out Mustasch, the band that replaced them. They're kinda similar I suppose, but much more tolerable to my ears.

The pirate bay is being sued as we speak. Don't they get away with it because they are located in countries that don't have anti-privacy laws? Sweden now has anti-piracy laws. The owners of the Pirate Bay were actually just sentenced to jail time. The site continues to prevail though.

Their later work, starting around Individual Thought Patterns, gets pretty proggy and technical and loses a bit of that speed you seem to enjoy. Great shiat though. All Death is good Death though

AlpineValleyGirl said: wow, its out on vinyl? my nephew burned a CD for me but now I'm gonna have to get the vinyl. you should see my vinyl collection . . . eXile59 said: How else are musicians suppose to make money? Yes Metallica has a ton of money but I feel bad for others that are not making any money because of p2p. The idea of downloading one or two songs then going out and buying the albums are gone. You just download the entire album now.
its not just the musicians making the money. there's way more than the band members on ANY record you buy. for those of you who buy original releases, read the liner notes - everyone mentioned on there makes a living off of your purchase. and yes, the sneaky weasle who uploaded it in the first place is all to blame. kinda makes you wonder if the band did it on purpose to generate the publicity???::finger Uh no, it doesn't. That's illogical.

And get some better openers. I've seen Megadeth once, and since they haven't put out anything new recently that I want to see live, I could pass

Depends on the subgenre. 9 times out of 10, I'll prefer European metal, but regarding say prog/power and stoner/sludge/doom, American bands would win.

Probably just Canadiens. I hoping my Blackhawks dispose of the Flames tonight. That would be relevant if Canadians were actually people.
