1  Forum / Band Biographies / AS SUMMER DIES: On Tour NOW!! on: April 20, 2008, 11:50:16 am
As Summer Dies, hails from Buffalo N.Y. the depressing northeastern city, with its bankrupt economy and its frigid climate providing a fitting backdrop for the band's sound. Musically, As Summer Dies has drawn comparisons to Joy Division, The Cure, The Deftones, AFI, and HIM, combining elements of goth, punk, metal and hardcore to create something truly unique. The band, which currently consists of Adam Vayne, Angel, Jay Fritzius, Rob Zelin and Rick Leonard, was originally formed in 2002?HuhHuh

As Summer Dies released their first 7 song, self-titled ep in the winter of 2004 and was immediately followed by an aggressive east coast tour. The music hit hard with fans but as a whole felt like something was missing. After taking some time to reflect and making various line-up changes, As Summer Dies began working on new material. During this time, the band's sound truly began to develop as they began to move away from the sound and style that typically define the metal genre...

October 28, 2005 saw the birth of Close Your Eyes, I'll Make You Famous, the bands second ep, and with it the band's first single, Zombie's Are Scumbags. The single received airplay on college radio stations across the country and began to generate substantial online support, fueling the bands already growing cult following. As Summer Dies followed the release of Close Your Eyes with nearly a full year of touring, playing alongside of 18 Visions, Powerman 5000, Life of Agony, Mortis, Bloodsimple, LoveHateHero, Hurt, the Panic Division and Michael Graves.

"It is a rare thing to see a band develop from a nucleus of disparate musicians to their first full length album, as I have had the pleasure of witnessing with As Summer Dies and the release of Sincerely."

On Valentine?HuhHuh?s Day of 2007, As Summer Dies unveiled the critically acclaimed, full length album Sincerely. 11 tracks of fast rhythms, intense bass lines and heavy drumbeats that create a background for the haunting vocals that have become part of the bands truly unique sound. The disc also featured the standout remix of Sincerely, courtesy of Rick (Stitch) Thomas from Mushroomhead, adding to the diversity of the album. After the release, As Summer Dies continued to intensely promote their new album and later that year, joined forces alongside The Human Abstract and Psyclon 9, supporting the Mushroomhead Savior Sorrow Tour.

Since their release, the singles "My Last Call" and "Sincerely" have been a permanent fixture on XM Radio's 'Heart Attack', WEDG's Next Wave and have been receiving additional plays on over 200 college and national radio stations. The band has also consistently charted as one of MySpace?HuhHuh?s top unsigned bands in the Goth and Metal categories.

Unsigned, Underestimated and Unforgettable, As Summer Dies is making their own path... Don't miss your chance to be part of their history.
2  Forum / Band Biographies / STEMM: The Band Who Brings You The Official Music Of The UFC on: April 20, 2008, 11:48:09 am
Drive and the determination to succeed is one half of the force behind STEMM. The other is their gripping sense of rhythm and insightful lyrics. Without fear of bearing their souls, their music touches upon issues that all can relate to and crosses over throughout alternative, metal, and hardcore genres. This has given them the ability to reach through and appeal to a wide and eclectic audience of all ages.

With relentless efforts towards each phase of their growth?HuhHuh western New York's STEMM has solidly progressed and achieved an impressive reach throughout their region as well as across the country and overseas.  STEMM became part of the Jager Music family in November of 2004.  They have since participated as a Jager Tour supporting act for almost every Spring and Fall Jagermeister Tour giving them opportunity to share the stage with acts such as Staind, Stone Sour, Disturbed, Alter Bridge and more.  Their persistence and professionalism displayed during these opportunities brought about artist endorsements from reputable companies such as ESP Guitars, Mesa Boogie, Regal Tip, In Tune Guitar Picks, Coffin Case and more.

STEMM is most widely recognized as the band who wrote the theme/intro music for The Ultimate Fighting Championship. STEMM's music has been showcased during every television broadcast and pay-per-view event since 2002 and is also heard on Spike TV commercials and UFC spin off shows such as HuhHuh?The Ultimate Fighter?HuhHuh.  The notoriety STEMM attained through the UFC caught the attention of "The Fight Network" based in Toronto, Canada.  This in turn solidified a broadcast deal with STEMM to provide the music throughout the broadcasts, web site, and commercials for the network.

In June 2006, STEMM signed a licensing deal with I Scream Records to release "Songs for the Incurable Heart" with worldwide distribution further helping them attain their goal of bringing their music to the masses on a new scale.

Other achievements include:

*TOUR in support for national recording artists, Chimaira, Mushroomhead, Trivium, Arch Enemy and Bleed The Sky. Guest vocals from Chimaira's vocalist, Mark Hunter, can be heard on the release "Songs for The Incurable Heart" (Courtesy of Road Runner Records)

*In regular rotation on SIRIUS Satellite Radio metal show "Hard Attack" where the band created enough demand to rank as high as #3 on their HuhHuh?Devil?HuhHuh?s Dozen?HuhHuh charts. The music then spilled over to the Howard Sterns Channel where they were heard during Howard Sports with Scott Ferrall.   STEMM?HuhHuh?s music was also placed onto Direct TV?HuhHuh?s Metal Music channel MUSICCHOICE.com where it again topped charts over nationally supported artists.

*Music featured on PLAYSTATION 2 and X-BOX games TAPOUT 2, SUDDEN IMPACT and HuhHuh?MX World Tour: Featuring Jamie Little?HuhHuh.  Also on FOX SPORTS television program "As Real As It Gets"

*The only unsigned band on the nationally released Nitrus Records/NoName Worldwide compilation CD "UFC Ultimate Beatdowns Volume 1" also featuring Slayer, Damage Plan, Fear Factory, Killswitch Engage and many more cutting edge metal acts.

STEMM?HuhHuh?s drawing power in their east coast market has allowed them to perform with various national acts such as: Damage Plan, Shadows Fall, Run-DMC, D-12, Sevendust, Lacuna Coil, Arch Enemy, The Used, Our Lady Peace, Sepultura, Ministry, Soulfly, Mushroomhead, Chimaira, Ill Nino, MachineHead, Cold, Snapcase, Hatebreed, Biohazard, Every Time I Die, Bleed The Sky, Manntis, Brand New Sin, E-Town Concrete, Silent Civilian, My Ruin, Nothingface, among others?HuhHuh

CURRENTLY the band is working on pre production material in the studio and plans to capitalize on the exposure they have received from the UFC and JagerMusic with an East Coast Spring tour in support of their next release.

STEMM's aggressive promotional techniques and absolute determination to command attention guarantees they are an up-and-coming band to watch.
