286  Forum / General Discussions / Who else wants thrash to make a comeback on: April 22, 2008, 02:44:16 am
Well yeah, I"m sure it's not like the old days, but I'll check it out.  Glad I got to see them in the earlier days.    But yeah that volatile band isn't bad.  But they're local arizona band so I doubt I'll be seeing them in my area any time soon.

yeah I'm constantly going to shows and always checking out whatever bands come around my area from all different metal genres.  I just never seem to see any newer thrash at the shows I go to.  That's my main source for finding new bands.  I love exodus too.  Haven't got the new album yet.  A few people told me they didn't like it, but I wanna check it out for myself.

Nope I'm not familiar with those bands.  I only know all the old thrash bands.  I just never hear of any new thrash bands unless they open for a good old school thrash band.

Sad what happened to thrash.  Seems like the only thrash bands out there are the ones that have been around for 20 something years.  The genre is still alive, but it's not thriving like it was 20 years ago.  Too many of the good bands broke up a long time ago.  Thank god for testament and some of the others that are still out there pluggin away

292  Forum / General Discussions / Something to really think about for Ozzfest.... on: April 22, 2008, 12:31:03 am
I don't see them coming back with lineups like that.  ALthough that'd be great. minus metallica.   They've been reverting back to the nu metal style the last couple of years.  For the mainstage I mean.  But ya never know

Yeah the tour was made for the summer.  It's all outdoor venues.  These kind of venues do have outdoor shows in sept, but that wouldn't make sense for ozzfest.  also as Magnoodle pointed out, the kids are back in school by that time and since teenagers are such a huge portion of the ozzfest goers it'd be a pretty bad idea.

I was waiting for one of these  "quit complaining you little bitches" type of post.  Well some of us don't go to just one ozzfest show.  I usually go to 3 of them which takes a bit more planning.   If I was planning on just going to one show, I wouldn't really care.  And as far as the whole ozzfest thing being a priveledge and not a right and all that,  this isn't a tour that they're doing out of the kindness of their hearts as a favor to the fans.  They are making huge amounts of dollars on this, so I don't feel the need to bow at their feet for giving me a precious metal festival to go to.  But I do appreciate them giving us the free show last year so that was cool.  Even though the lineup suffered because of it, but it was a very cool gesture.  The point is, people should know tourdates at least 3 months in advance for a show like this.

Yeah I agree it is disgraceful that on a tour like this where people need advance notice to take off from work and in a lot of cases book hotels and generally try to plan for their summer, they leave you waiting till like 2 months before the tour starts.  They pulled this shit in 2006 when they waited till the end of may to put up info. It totally screwed me that year because it was too late for me to take the days off that I wanted to.  Looks like this year is gonna be like that too.  We all know it's not easy to book big tours and shows like this and there's probably some bands that they're waiting on confirmation and all that, but at least put some dam  tour dates up so people can make there plans for the summer and have some idea of know what's going on.   Look at rockstar mayhem tour.  4 months in advance and they had their full lineup up with tourdates and presale info.  They understand that people need advanced notice.    Ok end of rant  lol
299  Forum / General Discussions / Am I the only one that's kinda getting sick of waiting? on: April 20, 2008, 02:23:57 pm
I don't expect to see any info up for several weeks.  But I could be wrong.  I'm also having a hard time trying to make plans for the summer and I'm putting a vacation on hold until I see some dates up.  I may just say the hell with it and just make vacation plans and whatever happens happens.  Some times they just don't have their shit together or they take their sweet ass time to put info up which make things very difficult to plan ahead.  I'd settle for just tourdates.
300  Forum / General Discussions / no ozzfest? on: April 19, 2008, 03:09:29 pm
Yeah I was hoping that rockstar mayhem thing would give ozzfest a kick in the ass to get some dates and info up.  I'm supposed to go away a couple of times during the summer and I feel like I have to put my summer plans on hold till I see some ozzfest dates up so I know what the fuck is going on.  I don't think it's asking too much to get at least a few months notice to a big show like this.  I remember a couple of years ago they waited till like 6 weeks before the tour started before putting up any info.  I couldn't even go to the show I wanted to go to because it was too late for me to put in for a day off.   But yeah I know we all gotta wait like every year  blah blah blah.  It would just be nice to be able to plan ahead a few months in advance
