I've also noticed that bands who play at ozzfest tend to get a major popularity boost.

Then again, I don't notice a lot of things as quickly as the rest....lol

I remember when I was that age I would beg my mom to play the black album in the car.

That's funny, I've received Slayer albums from my mother. My mom cleans to NIN.

My mom still listens to country.

My dad listens to classic rock.

I guess I'm the so called "ugly duckling" of the family...lol.

That's good to have your own little niche, tho.

Yeah, but then again, I got my brother listening to thrash....lol

Frobiwan said: I was attracted to death metal before I really knew the concept of nu metal. So converting for me is out of the question.

I was listening to Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, Obituary, Bolt Thrower, Grave ect. before nu metal was even a thought in some pre pubescent guitar players head.

I can remember rocking out in my backyard to Slowly We Rot when I was in 6th grade haha...

Nu metal's just blah...I can't stand the clear tone vocals thing, I go to metal shows to get three sheets to the wind drunk, holler a half naked chicks and sweat my aggression out in the pit...

If I wanted somthing that's gonna get me all teary eyed I'd put on Forest Gump...ha ::finger

LOL!!

Unfortunately, Bringer of Blood was the first DM album I've ever bought. I was sheltered as a kid...lol

Parents would barely let me listen to Metallica...ROFL.

Sad to say, that Six Feet Under cd got me into a lot of different death metal such as Warface and Krisiun.
