I like a VERY small amount of metalcore.  If I took a sheet of paper and wrote all the names of metal core songs I like, tore it to where it was just the right size for all the songs and threw it on the ground.  I wouldn't be able to piss on it.

You can put Flyleaf and Kill Hannah as rock, but not metal.
