Aerosmith may be looking to replace frontman Steven Tyler, despite the band's 40th anniversary less than a year away.

Tyler's possible departure is reportedly linked to the singer's focus on his solo career. In an interview with Classic Rock magazine, he said he doesn't know what he'll be doing next "but it's definitely going to be something Steven Tyler, working on the brand of myself HuhHuh?? Brand Tyler."

Classic Rock magazine reports that Aerosmith is planning to meet without Tyler to discuss possibly replacing him or going on a long hiatus.

Guitarist Brad Whitford said Tyler leaves "big shoes to fill" and that no one could imitate him.

"But, if somebody was willing to do it and the chemistry was right, why not?" said Whitford.

The 61-year-old singer suffered a fall off the stage during a show in Abu Dhabi, which reportedly put strain on the band that had to cancel the rest of the tour.

FOF says;
After the fall in Sturgis and this latest debacle why dont they just buy a fucking fence and install it on the perimeter of the stage?Huh

Steven,...calm your punk ass down and get over yourself,...you ARE Aerosmith.::laugh

I have no problem with him doing what he wants in a solo project.....( Joe Perry Project ring a bell??)....but to cancel existing tours/contracts is kinda shady,....I`m just sayin....

Wow. Thats just crazy. Seems a little late in the game to concentrate on a solo career. And more importantly, for what purpose? Aerosmith has worked great for all of these years. This seems like a really foolish move.

for a while there it was neck & neck on how many times we had seen them in concert (35 times each, with ozzy pulling ahead up til 2007).  but we had seen the Joe Perry Project at Chicagofest in 1982 and they did the ORIGINAL Let the Music Do The Talking.

aerosmith without steven tyler is like seeing ozzy without ozzy.

we stopped counting at 35 - its more than that now
bands sometimes come through chicago two or three times on a tour
and then play Alpine either before or after chicago

we saw Guns N Roses four times in one week like that . . .
they finished up one leg of a tour with Aerosmith one weekend and then
picked up the next leg with Iron Maiden the next weekend
