OMG, I read the bands and "this is the greatest genre ever" and thought it was a joke so I laughed. Then I saw who posted it...

I love melodic metalcore but seriously....who cares. To each their own, I don't understand why metal heads have to use half their energy criticizing other people's musical taste.

Because there's no line-up to criticize.

ok so story time.  I got into metal in middle school.  Unfortunately it was nu metal.  I began getting into core bands after that such as chimiara, lamb of god, and as i lay dying.  What I then realized when i got into a band and started making music is that those types of bands such as killswitch and as i lay dying take simple, plain riffs, overpolish them, wash, and repeat.  They are all the same.  I swear drarkest hour, who used to be my favorite band, basically trems and swedish picks everything.

The answer to this poisonous music is informing people of truly talented and original music, not bands that can't get over what at the gates and meshuggah did 20 years ago.  I say the best bands evolve or simply stay true.

I'm a big opeth fan, also i love all sorts of black metal and death metal, though i also love porcupine tree and the beatles.  It doesn't have to be death, it just needs to not suck.
