* Eminem - Recovery was the top selling album of 2010. I dig his music. * Sade - Soldier of Love. Haven't heard it, but I like Sade. She came in #14. * Black Eyed Peas - The E.N.D. I like some of their stuff. They came in at #10. * Slash - his new album is awesome
I know most of you might think other genre's are gay, but I had beyond a GREAT time at Vegoose when they crossed genre barriers and brought all kinds of music together.
Way more fun then if they'd stuck to a single style. It was such a freaking blast. I mingled with people I'd never mingled with before, as I'm sure was the same for them. The commonality wasn't in the genre, it was in the pure love of music. It was awesome.
I heard bands I'd known only by name or not at all. They had 2 stages going with different genre's on them. So if you weren't into one band you could walk 500 yards and watch someone else. It was a 2 day festival from morning till late night - woot!
Here was the lineup for 2007 Vegoose:
* Rage Against the Machine * Daft Punk * Iggy & the Stooges performing the album Fun House * Muse * The Shins * Cypress Hill * Queens of the Stone Age * moe. * Public Enemy * Michael Franti & Spearhead * STS9 * Umphrey's McGee * Thievery Corporation * M.I.A. * Mastodon * Robert Randolph and the Family Band * Ghostface Killah & The Rhythm Roots Allstars * Blonde Redhead * Gogol Bordello * U.N.K.L.E. * Ghostland Observatory * Pharoah Monch * Battles * Lupe Fiasco * Animal Liberation Orchestra * Atmosphere * Infected Mushroom * Federico Aubele
It definitely works if you can keep an open mind about music and aren't closed to Ozzfest as "a metal festival only."
It is not likely but to see (in no particular order):
* U2 * AC/DC * Lady Gaga * Dave Matthews Band * Paul McCartney * Black Eyed Peas * Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers * Nickelback * Elton John * Muse * Michael Franti and Spearhead * System of a Down * Marilyn Manson * Alice Cooper * Daft Punk * Eminem * Slash * Sade * A good punk band * Impellitteri * Black Sabbath/Ozzy * Metallica * Megadeth * Mudvayne * Five Finger Death Punch * Disturbed * Alice in Chains * Mastadon * DeathRiders * Three Days Grace * 3 Doors Down * Black Label Society * Close to Home * Jet Black Stare * Rains * Skillet * Sick Puppies * Linkin Park * Creed * Breaking Benjamin
If these top selling bands are out of the ballpark, maybe a search across different sources for the best new bands of 2010 could net some variety for the festival.

"Concert attendance may have hit a low and tour cancelations may have been common this summer, but in 2010, many touring bands and soloists still made it work. Rock, pop, country, oldies, international -- artists of all genres hit the road and came back with full pockets to prove it. Watch videos from the year's top 25 tours, and relive your moment in the front row. (Artists are ranked by total gross earnings, according to Billboard Boxscore, from Nov. 22, 2009 through Nov. 20, 2010.)" [http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/54197958.html]
