Primus was awesome!!!  my boss was nice enough to let me off at 7:30 because that's when they said the show started.  it took me an hour to find a parking space, three blocks away, that was only good til midnight
but it only cost me $1.50 to park.  my sister, nephew and his friend had already gotten there on the train.

the show actually started around 9:00 and my sister and I stayed near the back of the seating, while the nephew and his friend got up to the front (next to the guy in the banana suit, for those of you who were there)
the stage was dominated by two astronauts with video screen faces that stared out at us the whole concert
flanking a videoscreen that drowned the band in repetative videoloops that went with the songs but
you couldn't see them play, which is what I prefer.  they took a break and played four Popeye cartoons (wtf?)
and came back out to play Green Naugahyde all the way through.  all around great show.

THEN . . . saturday night we went to Anthrax/Testament/Death Angel!!

we couldn't get out of the house before 7:00 and missed Death Angel but got there right as Testament started
it still took us an hour to park, but we paid $20 to valet the car at the restaurant next door to the show
we moved up about halfway down on the main floor and met up with a bunch of our old metal friends from
the last thirty something years of going to shows. Testament was loud and awesome, with a wicked backdrop
accented by lights and fog.  their pit was huge and brutal.

we moved up and around to the other side and got all the way to the front lines for Anthrax.
we stayed off to the right on Scott Ian's side so we avoided the mad crush front and center
their set was heavy on the older stuff, and Joey Belladonna's voice was in fine form.
during 'Indians,' Scott stopped the show to yell at the audience that the pit was "Gay!  not gay like gay but gay like happy.  it's a wardance people!  dance like you're going to war!"  and the place blew up.

great weekend of shows.  I'm exhausted

I saw Def Leppard and Heart last Wednesday.
We spent the night at the rail but it was a nice relaxed audience and everyone loved the show
Heart were assume and Def Lep played all their old classics which was what I wanted to hear
They only did one encore and that was Pyromania
I was surprised that Heart opened on a Led Zep song and that they also played a John Farnham
Song as well
p.s Nancy Wilson is one fine cougar

so, how was the show??  the probability of us going this weekend falls drastically every day   Angry
weather, travel, pet-sitters, etc.  it's in Indiana so its a bit of a road trip and it would be better if we over-nighted it.  but I have a feeling they will still be touring next summer.
