they are not breaking up as of yet. serj is making a solo album and daron is working with shavo on a new side project band. john, the drummer, is working on some behind the scenes music projects with other artists. their hiatus has been reported to be indefinate or at least a while, and serj himself has said that at this point in time he doesn't know for sure if they will get back together. he said they might get back together for one more album in an unknown time period, then the band may feel like it is just time for them to move on with their lives. their is no animosity between the band members, despite some rumors. the band kind of played along with those rumors as a joke to get a rise out of people, fan or not.
