Yeah it sucks man. That ship has been stuck on a reef straight off where I live since October.
They managed to remove most of the oil from the ship but about 300 ton washed up on the beaches
The ship has now split in two and there are 200+ containers in the water washing up on beaches all over the place
There are still 800 containers on board which they expect to fall into the ocean
We have a huge swell and surf here at the moment so I expect a lot of shit to hit the beach where I live some time this week.
I live about 200 meters from the beach at Mt Maunganui in the Bay of Plenty

oh crap..that sucks.
I have family and freinds who live on the Gulf coast I seen and heard what they went threw with BP and its oil spill...Takes a long time to recover from something like that..But having a ship with so many containers on it ,split in half right off the shoreline, that is insane. My heart and prayers go out to you guys....

Thanks man. It's now 7:15am so I just walked down to the beach for a look. Not much to see but quite a bit of foam (from the inside of shipping containers?) in amongst the seaweed

just saw an article about this
talking about the stuff that's washing up on shore
that kept repeating,
"do not consume the foodstuffs, especially the containers of powdered milk, as they may be a health hazard"

Yeah it's a nice spot. I love where I live. Google "Mount Maunganui". It's so beautiful. Pity about the debris from this fucking container ship!!!
