FORTALEZA, Brazil -- A pair of goals from the unlikeliest of sources lifted Brazil into the World Cup semifinals following a 2-1 win over Colombia Friday Cheap Nike Football Boots night.

A late penalty from Colombia's James Rodriguez was not enough after Brazilian centre back David Luiz struck a restart that fooled goalkeeper David Ospina to double the host's advantage in the second half.

Luiz's central partner, Thiago Silva, opened the scoring just seven minutes in off a corner at Estadio Castel„o to give Brazil a dream start.

During a timid opening half, Silva was left all alone at the back stick before the corner kick bounced inside the penalty box and caromed off his thigh and into the open net.

The Brazilian big body had another good look eight minutes later when after receiving a cut back cross from Marcelo at the top of the area, Hulk blasted another low drive at Ospina that the Colombian saved.

After pinging around inside the penalty box, the ball eventually fell to Yepes, who appeared to score.

But cameras then panned to the assistant referee, who had his flag raised to negate what might have been a legitimate equalizer.

After Luiz doubled Brazil's advantage off a restart a minute later, Colombia found a way back into the match when Brazilian 'keeper Julio Cesar brought down Carlos Bacca inside the area in the 80th minute.

After Rodriguez converted the penalty kick to Cesar's right, the 60,342 in attendance held on tight.

Colombia had a restart in stoppage time that Ospina raced up field for, but the attempt went begging when a scramble inside the box saw the ball fly over Cesar's goal.

Brazil now moves on to face Germany in Belo Horizonte in a World Cup semifinal next week.

They'll be without Silva, who picked up a yellow card midway through the second half and will miss out due to accumulation.

Brazilian star Neymar was also forced out of the match with 10 minutes remaining after receiving a knee to his back. His status remains Arsenal jersey 2015 unclear.
