muscle car is a term which generally describes a rear wheel drive mid-size car with a large, powerful V8 engine and special trim  intended for maximum torque on the street or in drag racing competition.

my favortie would be a '70 chevelle ss 454::finger

A modern viper, charger rt,  or a proper stang can be a muscle car. Rear wheel drive throwbacks.

Not much can beat a 440 6-pack for seat of the pants grumble though.
