wtf why do people say that bands who sing in like a higher pitched voice are lame?? coheed and cambria are amazing and people talk crap, 3 inches of blood. also amazing with high pitched singer. not all bands have to be deep death metal oriented

Probably because hardly anyone does it anymore and so people who only listen to newer stuff aren't used to it. As far as I'm concerned high pitched vocals are the most metal.

I personally enjoy vocalists with great range, but in the case of Coheed, I simply find them irritating.

I'd venture to guess that people who don't like the high vocals think that guys simply shouldn't sound like that. It's unnatural. Different strokes for different folks.
