A laptop is nice, but I think the desktop rules.

i would like a laptop, since its portable and nowadays you can get one with the same amount of space that a desktop has.. but im okay with my desktop Smiley

Desktop has faster processors most of the time and more room for upgrade.  Unless you are willing to spend a ludicrous amount on a laptop then things like SLI and quad core processors are out of the questions.  Also top notch sound cards like the X-fi or barracuda are totally unavailable at this point in a portable format.
