yet another floyd rose problem. please help

I always hear this thing and saw a video from guitar world telling you to make the bridge parrellel to the body of the guitar. I so i did that. One thing though, ok so now it can't be pulled back, but my problem is that after i did that the only direction it can go is forward. So by the time i actually got my strings to tension for standard tuning, the bridge was so f*ckin far forward you couldn't eeven really dive bomb. WTF is wrong? Please help.

You need to block your trem before you even think of changing strings. If you're changing string gauge, you will have to adjust the screws on the inside of the trem cavity.

When blocking the trem, make sure you block it so it is parallel to the body. When it is blocked, string it up and tune it.

Remove the block. If it jumps up,  and your string tension pulls the bridge upward, adjust the springs until the trem is parallel to the body again. It will be in perfect tune.

My fiance says when they say parallel, it means with the strings only.
