I think In Flames>Pantera

and it's scary to think about but I guess presently Lamb Of God really is the best band out there though technically they have been around since 1990 so going by that bands that just recently got more popular like Children of Bodom, Dragon Force, Sonata Artica and Amon Amarth could be argued as better

maiden is the best oeiginal metal band. i'm talking about the original metal like judas priest, Sabbath, mettalica and stuff.   Maiden owns all of them, the only ones who come close are Black Sabbath and kind of Pantera
