I would love to see an Ozzfest that mixes some of the best metal and grunge bands this year. Such as

Second Stage:

The Oblivious Humans (Look Um Up Pretty Bad Ass)
Operator
Deadline
Devildriver
The Haunted
Screaming Trees
Zao
Hatebreed
As I Lay Dying

Main Stage:

Trivium
Lamb Of God
Mudvayne
Velvet Revolver
Alice In CHains
Ozzy

I would probably have 3 or 4 orgasims with this lineup

I don't think so...It's pretty bad when playing tetris on your phone is more amusing then seeing a band you payed for to see play. (trivium)

didn't grunge die in 94? did Layne Staley really not die? Alice in chains dies with Layne... let it rest

Actually Alice In Chains came here to Nashville and played unplugged with their new lead singer and they were amazing. Besides Jerry Cantrell Sang alot of the songs. But Alice In Chains was perfect. And grunge must not be dead because the second higest sold album of 2005 was Velvet Revolvers Contraband so its still pretty alive

It spawned some of the worse bands in hard rock history.

I take issue with bands that keep going after one of their most important members leaves the band (due to death or whatever). When Roger Waters left pink floyd, they should have killed the name too. Instead they release two really fucking horrible albums. Sepultura should have died when Max Cavalera left the band. Alice in chains is the same... The name should die forever. I dont have issue with Cantrell starting a new band....

When Newsted left metallica, that wasn't a real major loss. continue on the name. Abe Spear wasnt a huge loss to LOG... These sort of losses to a band don't require a name change.

Ok I can agree with that. Because you cant really change your sound if your Alice n Chains you have to stay the same and without layne it does hurt them. and now they have the lead singer of shinedown and i havent heard how it sounds yet but im sure its not the same

I don't see the best metal bands there, or anything remotely close to good (aside from Ozzy and the Haunted).

The only good "grunge" band you have is AiC, and they suffer from a lack of Layne (not really their fault though)

purest feeling.
purest feeling.
well i think i'm gonna push it as far as it will go.
give in to desire.
only you will know.
so tell me all your secrets.
i'll stick it in your head.
i wish i could remember everything she said.

purest feeling.
purest feeling.
purest feeling.
purest feeling.
well she can be my savior with everything she does.
or some kind of punishment for people just like us.
i don't really believe she understands what's happening to me.
the sooner that she gets it the better it will be.

purest feeling.
purest feeling.
purest feeling.
purest feeling.
purest feeling.
i have got it figured out. (i should have known all along).
i can't live without her.
purest feeling.
i have got it figured out.

I LOVE THAT SONG MORE THAN LIFE LOL
