Death - Individual Thought Patterns (Influenced both the development of Melodic Death, Technical Death and Progressive Metal and a great example of Death's signature style of playing)

Reign in Blood - Slayer (Most succesful album of the "unholy trinity of '86" and a great influence on the development of extreme metal)

Venom - Black Metal (Venom's classic and perhaps the earliest and greatest influence on the development of black metal)

Possessed - Seven Churches (Godfather of Death Metal albums)

Paranoid - Black Sabbath (Highly influential when it came out and in Doom and Stoner Metal it's influence is still felt as of today)

Iron Maiden - Number of The Beast (Classic Maiden)

Judas Priest - Painkiller (The king of Speed Metal albums)

Dream Theater - Images and Words (The defining Prog album)

Metallica - Ride the Lightning (Metallica's perhaps most sonically extreme album and big influences, along with their debut, on Thrash's, and therefore indirectly on extreme metal's, development)

Metallica - Master of Puppets (One of the few albums with both a great metalhead acceptance as well as mainstream acceptance, and a true classic)

Indeed. It's sad but true. The VAST majority of the R-Tards on this forum wouldn't know good metal if it raped them up the ass.
