Metallica is way more overrated than Iron Maiden.
Iron Maiden's bass is not the most prominent thing in their songs

They really aren't very good. At all. Every song pretty much sounds the same. Bruce Dickinson has a terrible voice. I don't get why that high pitched bitch voice is so popular in metal.

GTFO

Wow... I CANNOT believe I saw Pantera on this list... Pantera were one of the most under-rated bands until Dimebag died, then all these kids who never payed attention to them before started getting all gun-ho trying to act like they always loved Pantera. Also, I don't know how you can The Beatles or Nirvana were over-rated... I'm not even a huge fan of either band, but the Beatles were inivators of rock music, and Nirvana were the reason Hair metal died... so I thank god for them. Why don't you just say Led Zeppelin are over-rated too? lol.

I'd have to say...
Disturbed(boring as hell live, and repetitive)
Godsmack
Linkin Park
Dragonforce
Avenged Sevenfold

Nirvana was too popular for such little musical talent

Uh, it's no coincidence, it's a logical conclusion. Of course the lead song writing force in the band is going to ensure that his instrument is both audible and sometimes prominent. If I were a keyboarist in a band and the lead song writer, you can bet damn sure that there would be keyboard driven leads occasionally.

Musically, Maiden is still badass. So much energy, the songs are usually dynamic, the lyrics and historical/literary references are always top notch, and they've had/have some great, if not the greatest, vocalists to boot.

Nirvana is overrated though, I thought I had deleted their name from my quote. Guess not.

Get the fuck out you cock licker. You claim people on this forum can't appreciate older metal bands and go and call Iron Maiden overrated? You're illogical and a failure of a troll.  Those Mayhemfest forums would like you back.

And for the love of God, Avenge Sevenfold are so God damn overrated its immeasurable and almost mind boggling. Take 1 part douchey untalented vocalist, 2 overrated guitarists, and one set of mediocre drums and you have a band that only 13 year old girls could love. How can anyone like this band? They've admitted in interviews that they're only in it for the fame and chicks. Where the fuck is the artistic integrity? Where's the creative drive? Not in their logo they stole from Overkill, that's for sure.

If you like their Pantera cover, I pray for humanity's sake that you do not reproduce.

The drummer is horrible, he resorts to layering his drums because he can't do them good in one recording
