Question for guitarists/bassists

Being a bass player.  The fretboard on a bass has a larger scale.  So if you want to be able to play probably pretty much anything, you're gonna have to use your pinky.  It'll take a while to be able to do it since your pinky is your weakest finger but you can't really play bass unless you use it.

Get that pinky in there!!  It will hurt for a while... but once that muscle in your arm is worked out enuff, that pain will go away and you will be a BASS MACHINE!

its there so use it. it makes u so much better, just being able to play stuff more efficiently. it hurts at first but it goes away once ur pinky gets stronger. just a little bit of work will pay off.

To echo the sentiments of everyone on this thread, the pinky is essential.
How else are you going to do your sweet fret reaches.
