Naw, they just seemed to be the epitome of the "fabricated" bad boy band. They seemed to have no interest in the music itself, just the money and women they could get through it. I hear people here bag on a band for being "corporate" or "Mtv approved" but G-N-R embodied that more than any band around.

And I change my answer.  This Shades of Anger crap is most borderline grunge crap I've heard in a while, but he still pretends it is metal because it has a distorted guitar.
You (and Metallica, for that matter) want to make music that is soft, and slow, and barely qualifies as rock?  Great!  More power to you, do what you want.  But when you have the audacity to pretend it is metal, prepare to be thoroughly mocked and/or beaten with a brick by fans of actual metal.
