1. yes, i know i picked 4 deathcore bands. i do still like metalcore, metal, and hard rock better but i just started to get into the new wave of american deathcore bands. i like them. i think they are good and for the most part i am not into straight up death metal. it is just not my thing. i can't get into it and i can't get into my groove with death metal. i think it would be cool to see bands like this for a change. i was going to vote for some other bands that i like more (All that Remains, Unearth, Behemoth, Slipknot, and Heaven Shall Burn), but they have been on ozzfest already a couple of times and i thought it would be good for a change of pace. besides, i am sure there is going to be alot of other people voting for these bands anyway. the same bands just gets boring after a while. we need newer bands to make a name for themselves because that is really the purpose of ozzfest. new bands come out and get on the most well known summer metal concert tour in America so people find out about them and buy their records.
2. i also just got into pelican. i think they are an excellent instrumental metal/hard rock/jazz-core band. i know they don't have vocals but how sick would it be to see these guys play on ozzfest and get their name out there more. they are great musicians in my opinion. so that is my reasoning and justification for my choices. my reasoning may not be great but it is my opinion and like i said before i don't care what others think about me or the bands i chose. ::finger
