Rush vs. Pink Floyd

I'm not sure I agree with the first part, but you're most certainly right about the kids wearing the Floyd shirts they got from Hot Topic (and now Kohls and other stores that are selling them)

The Doors have some good stuff but they are highly overrated.

Pink Floyd to me is better. And to every idiot who says they have no talent then you obviously haven't heard anything from them.
They made songs that you can enjoy even when you are not high. Stuff like Comfortably Numb gets that good old jolt through my body with the badass solos.

Rush is alright by me but not a good as Floyd. Though I can say i like them more than the doors

I do not believe these are the right bands to compare, as the only thing similar between them is their progressive sound. But, for the sake of the thread, I do not see how Rush can be considered greater than Pink Floyd by any degree. There is a reason why Pink Floyd has encountered so much success and such icons as the Dark Side album cover becoming implanted in pop culture. The music produced by the band is incredibly introspective and compelling, and while Rush is a talented group, the meaning and feeling behind their works simply does not penetrate listeners as much as I feel the Waters/Gilmour combination can.

Rush has sick ass members. But your brain could fall out of your ears if you listen to Floyd long enough.
