To the guys that are dissing this show date: relax. A single, central gig is much better than no Ozzfest at all this year. (BTW, for those bitching about the money they'll make, Ozzy already made many times this show on the rest of his tour elsewhere in Europe, etc) For many months, it's been pretty obvious that the core mainstays of Ozzfest are already taken for their own gigs. A show like this is the only way Ozzfest could have been put together, and I can tell you for a fact that Sharon's already making plans for a full Ozzfest tour next year. Besides, this makes more financial sense to Sharon anyway; a smaller tour this year will intensify demand for next year's tour, when she will be able to book actual bands for a full-on tour of the US.

Oh, and to be honest, I don't give a damn where Ozzfest is this year. I already have my plane ticket, and I'll be there this year.

its not really a central gig. Texas is at the bottom of the country. I would say Kansas City or Omaha are the most central US cities.

But yeah, after the US arena tour and THEN the Euro tour it was pretty obvious Ozzy wouldn't do a full-fledged tour this year, especially with the kind of booking he can get this year.

I like mostly everyone one of the bands. Ozzy, Metallica, Serj(is ok), Apocalyptica, Sevendust, Shadows Fall, Devildriver, Kindom of Sorrow, Goatwhore, Rigor Mortis, and Soilent Green. Im most def gona go. I live all the way in south florida and im still gonna go. Round trip is only 250 bucks. Tickets r prolly 120-150 bucks too. If you r a true ozzfest fan, be there august 9th!

I hope this is really just a "one summer" thing. it'd be a shame to have ozzfest do this every year. not everybody has the money or the means to travel that far. I'm not giving shit at all, I can understand and I support ozzfest all the way. I just hope I can go next year...
